New York State lost the fifth-most manufacturing jobs over the past five years. The raw change was a loss of 96,100 positions according to research done by On Numbers, the daily demographic blog of American City Business Journals. The full report is here.
Three more hotels with a combined 400 rooms are planned for Genesee Street near the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. A six-story Aloft Hotel will rise across from the airport. A four-story Hampton Inn is planned for Buell Street and a four-story Town Place Suites will go near the Fairfield Inn. All of the hotels are slated to begin construction this fall.
The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency helped facilitate a proposal to construct a 78-hundred square foot restaurant adjacent to the Holiday Inn on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls.
Embassy Suites Buffalo has been named to the Expedia Insiders' Select list for 2012; the only hotel in the eight counties of Western New York so designated.
