Drought Conditions Spur Warnings

Albany, NY (WBEN) There has been a severe lack of rain over the past 10 days and that has led state officials to issue a state-wide ban on burning. Governor Andrew Cuomo said Friday that the ban on residential burning would be in effect for the next 90 days as three brush fires in the Adirondacks have burned eight acres of wild lands. Campers are warned of high fire dangers because of the lack of rain. One of those fires in the Adirondacks was started by an unattended campfire.
Officials are also planning to issue a boating warning about rocks because of low water levels on state waterways.
