Dog Rescued Near Brink Of Falls

Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN) New York State Park Police rescued a stranded dog Friday near the brink of Niagara Falls. 'Lily', a 7-month-old, border collie mix was spotted by tourists who were on Three Sisters Island, the dog was stranded on Little Brother Island, just about 200 yards from the brink of the falls. The dog had to brave the rushing water of the Niagara River rapids in order to make it to that small island which has no access points.
Rescuers were able to lure the dog to them with the help of some hamburgers and finally got the dog to safety after two and a half hours. The family from Lackawanna said that Lily ran away from them while visiting Goat Island on the Fourth of July after she was scared by fireworks.
