Bullied Bus Aide Retires



Greece, NY (AP) A New York school bus monitor who was shown in a video being relentlessly bullied by a group of boys says she's retiring.

Karen Klein told The Associated Press on Friday it was a tough decision to leave the job she held for three years but it's time to move on.

The 68-year-old suburban Rochester grandmother says she's not quitting because of what happened on the last day of school in June, when four seventh-grade students taunted her with profanity, insults and threats during a school bus run. A 10-minute video of the episode went viral online and spurred an outpouring of more than $700,000 in donations from all over the world.

The Greece school district has suspended the students for a year.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT A GROWN WOMAN COULD'NT DISAPLINE A GROUP OF TEEN AGED PUNKS.IF IT WAS ME THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE BACK SET OF A COP CAR GOING TO A DETENTION CELL AND I WOULD HAVE GONG TO COURT TO MAKE THEY WERE PUNISH WITH STAYING AFTER SCHOOL UNTIL THEY GRADUATED.

Unbelievable!
Something is drastically wrong with our Society. Where can I go to apply for a job like hers, NOT do it and get over half a million? SHE DID NOT DO WHAT SHE WAS HIRED TO DO!!! Yes, she should retire. No she should NOT be rewarded. She should donate the "freebee" to those who NEED help!
