Buffalo (WBEN) -- The National Weather Service says the temperature in Buffalo reached 96 degrees at 3:49 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
It broke the previous high for August 4th of 94 degrees, set back in 1887.
It's the second straight day that Buffalo has set a new, daily record high -- reaching 95 degrees on Friday as well.
The agency also has a Heat Advisory in effect for northern Erie, Genesee, Niagara and Orleans counties until 8 pm on Saturday night.
The National Weather Service also offers this reminder about the heat.
