Surviving Monkees To Play Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) -- The Monkees will re-unite for a brief tour this November, and one of their 12 stops will be in Buffalo.

The band originally formed to act in a 1960's TV show have a November 18 stop at the UB Center For the Arts.

The news of the tour was first published by Rolling Stone magazine, who point out this will the first time Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork have played together since 1997.

It also marks the group's first perfformances since Davy Jones passed away in February. "This seems like a good time to do this – the right time," Nesmith tells Rolling Stone. "Who knows when we will get another chance?"

Jones will be saluted "in the show's multimedia content," according to a statement.
