Buffalo, NY (WBEN Erie County Sheriff's deputies say a man arrested after an incident at a Clarence store attempted to kill himself inside the Erie County Holding Center.
In a statement, Undersheriff Mark Wipperman says 54 year old Edward Berezowski of Williamsville was brought into the Holding Center after being arrested at a Best Buy for grabbing an employee who had told him to stop swearing loudly because kids were nearby. Deputies say Berezowski then attacked a store manager by choking him and throwing him into a display.
Wipperman says Berezowski entered the Echo Long Housing Unit Sunday afternoon and told staff he was going to nap. Ten minutes later, as part of required safety checks, a deputy discovered Berezowski hanging from the cell gate by his jail issued pants.
He was immediately cut down and given CPR. Berezowski was then rushed to Buffalo General Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating, and will not comment further.
Hope he suffers a long and agonizing life for attacking a retail employee at work. Scumbag.
Obviously the retail employees did not deserve to be harmed at work. But this person was suffering from a mental disability. And since he is in critical condition,a long and agonizing life is unlikely.Yet the long and agonizing careers of retail employeescontinue,in a no-compassion economy where the victims blame each other.
To no class, no respect: If it is any consolation to you, Edward Berezowski has had a long and agonizing life already.
