Despite the drought conditions in New York State, some crops are faring well. The Syracuse Post Standard reports that soybeans, oats and dry bean yields project to be higher than usual. Still trending downward are yields for winter wheat and corn for grain.
Kaman Corporation of Connecticut has announced the acquisition of Rochester-based automation distributor Zeller Corporation. No terms were made public. Zeller has operations in five cities, including Buffalo.
Fichman Furniture of Toronto has decided on Holland as the base for its U.S. operations. Business First reports an 8,000 square foot building on North Main Street has been purchased, with Fichman expected to invest $3 million to shift manufacturing to Holland.
