NY Allows Online Voter Registration Through DMV

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York is joining 13 states that allow voters to register online in an effort to improve voter turnout and save money.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the effort knocks down longstanding barriers that prevented many New Yorkers from voting.

Cuomo says registering to vote in person or by mail is cumbersome and expensive.
