Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN) -- New York State Park police are hoping the public can help them identify a woman found dead in the Niagara River in Niagara Falls last Saturday.
Police say unidentified human remains were recovered from the lower Niagara River in the City of Niagara Falls. It appears the body was in the water for 1 to 3 days.
A water rescue team removed the body, and it was transported to the Erie County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy under the direction of Niagara County Coroner Cindy-Lou Joyce.
The victim is described as a female 25 to 40 years of age, Height 5’06” weight 177lbs, black hair 15 inches in length, with 3 to 4 piercings in each ear and a tattoo of a rose on the right ankle .
