Who Will Lead Erie County's Major Political Parties?
Who should replace Lenihan? Is Langworthy doing a good job? How important is the chair anyway? SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
LANGWORTHY MUST GO
LANGWORTHY HAS BEEN AN EMBARRASSMENT.THE DEFEATS OF CHRIS COLLINS AND JANE CORWIN WERE NOTHING SHORT OF OUTRIGHT LAZINESS ON HIS PART.THE CORWIN DEFEAT MADE HIM A NATIONAL LAUGHING-STOCK.FOR THE RECORD-I AM A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN IN ELMA, NY.
It's a thankless job, and no one is as organized as Nick. If you look at s fundraising, or picking candidates, he's done a good job. Losses are not entirely his fault.
A chairman has to be decisive. Masiello doesn't have the stones.
LEADERSHIP SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT
It's interesting to hear that there is an undercurrent within the Rpublican party for a challenge to the incumbent. Highly unusual for Repubs to act this way and I doubt it will materialize. As for the Dems,Leadership was never one of Masiello's stronger suits. And the fact that he is being advanced by one of Cuomo's hacks doesn't bode well for him.Like Langworty,Zellner is smart but young, and this is his major liability. Look out for the guy from Cheektowaga Max,seasoned, tough, and a good organizer. As long as he can safely distance himself from the influence of former Chair(and major disaster) Steve Pigeon,he may be the one.
Re LANGWORTHY MUST GO
You didn't have to tell anyone you're a registered Republican, you made it obvious with your ALL CAPS shouting at the internets! I'm a former Republican who has no regrets about leaving the party since it went bonkers insane; just this week the right wing media outed one of the Navy Seals who killed Osama. Shades of Valerie Plame. I'm happy to no longer be associated with a group that puts party over country to the degree that it jeopardizes national security for political purposes. And now Romney's a birther. See you people in history's dumpster.
