GOP, Dems chairmen look ahead to November

Buffalo (WBEN) -- With the primary election now in the rear-view mirror, the political parties are focusing their attention on the next big challenge -- the general election on Nov. 6.

The work continues on securing the necessary votes to win in November, says Nick Langworthy, chairman of the Erie County Republican Committee.

"We're going to be working day and night to get our message out to the voters in all of these races between now and November 6," he says.

Langworthy says the party's message includes lower spending, lower taxes, and more personal accountability.

At the same time, Erie County Democratic chair Len Lenihan says the candidates will have to remain active in the next several weeks.

"Retail campaigning to media, to walking the streets, knocking on doors, visiting organizations," Lenihan says.

He believes his party's candidates have the right message to help middle class families.
