Rove to speak Monday night at Canisius

Buffalo (WBEN) -- The political strategist regarded as the architect of the Bush presidential campaigns in 2000 and 2004 will speak at Canisius College tonight.

Karl Rove will speak on the relationship between campaigning and governing, says Canisius political science professor Michael Haselswerdt.

"And how that relationship has been changing over time," he says.

Rove will speak as part of the William H. Fitzpatrick Chair of Political Science Lecture Series at Canisius.

Haselswerdt figures it's a good topic for Rove, a former presidential advisor who also served as the deputy chief of staff under President George W. Bush.

"Campaigning is more and more dominating the governing aspect of things, but we'll see what he says about it," Haselswerdt adds.

Rove also supervises American Crossroads, a super PAC.

Rove's lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. It's free and open to the public, but Canisius says seating will be limited.
