Boy, oh boy, we have had cheap First Class airfares to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America and still do. But, this week we have seen airfares to Florida, especially Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami drop by as much as $400 roundtrip. Today for the first time in awhile you can book some hot airfares across the USA, and you have 10 days to book. You will find cheap airfares even for Thanksgivings, Christmas and New Year's. Remember, on Thanksgiving weekend the worst day to travel will be Sunday, November 25. You may also find higher than normal airfares on November 24 and 26, 2012. Look at some of the airfares we found today, valid for travel thru Feb. 14, 2013. Just remember Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's airfares will be higher. On some of these routes, you will that the Bestfares will be for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with Sundays being the highest. One of the best buys this fall has to be flying Business Class from New York City to Dublin for only $1,500 roundtrip, including all taxes and fuel surcharges. For about $50 more you could be heading to London, England. Most of Europe in on sale traveling in Business Class during Thanksgiving week. The normal reduced Business Class airfare on most international airlines flying from NYC to London usually goes for $3,200. So you can see why some of you may be able to afford Business Class to Europe, when it is up to 50% less. We are finding most of the cheaper Business Class airfares to Europe departing the Sunday before Thanksgiving through Thanksgiving Day, November 22, and returning no later than November 29, 2012. Is It Worth It To Buy Miles?
Most airlines charge 2.5 to 3.5 cents per mile, you’ll also have to pay a 7.5 percent U.S. federal excise tax and some airlines also charge a processing fee. If you are starting out with 0 miles, you would have to pay well over $750 to qualify for a roundtrip award ticket, but I don’t know any city in the U.S. or Canada that costs that much with an advance purchase. Most long-haul flights are in the $300 range. If you have 20,000 miles, then depending on the price of your ticket, it may be worth purchasing 5,000 miles to get an award ticket. You’ll have to do the math to figure out whether purchasing miles makes sense. Another thing to be aware of is that during peak seasons like summer and the holidays, you may need 50,000 miles for an award ticket and some destinations like Australia seem impossible to find award seats year round. Cruise From Europe Back To The USA For As Little As $399 Per Person When the seasons change, so do many cruise ship itineraries and one of the biggest discounts you will find is on a repositioning cruise.
