Two Plead Guilty in Witness Tampering Case

Buffalo, NY (WBEN/AP) Two Buffalo brothers face prison after admitting to witness tampering and other felonies.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Monday that 19-year-old Riyad Johnson was under indictment for attempted murder when he and his 20-year-old brother, Moshaun, plotted to threaten to shoot a key prosecution witness to keep her from testifying.

Moshaun Johnson was already facing a weapons charge from another incident. Prosecutors say Moshaun contacted the eyewitness and warned her, "If my brother does any time, I'll be poppin' y'all."

Prosecutors say Riyad Johnson pleaded guilty in Erie County Court to attempted murder, weapons possession and witness tampering. He could go to prison for up to 29 years when he's sentenced next month.

Moshaun Johnson, who made the threat, pleaded guilty to weapons possession and witness tampering. He faces up to 19 years in prison.

DA Frank Sedita says "The Office of the Erie County District Attorney will continue to aggressively prosecute thugs who attempt to intimidate citizens from coming to court."

Sentencing for both is scheduled for Oct. 19.

How do you feel about allowing school districts a second vote on their budget plan?
As long as it's a different plan it's ok.
I'm ok with a 2nd vote for the same or a different plan.
  One vote and done!
