Man Killed in Lackawanna Industrial Accident

LACKAWANNA, N.Y. — An industrial accident in western new York has killed one man and injured another.

Federal workplace safety authorities tell Buffalo media outlets that a 3-ton steel beam fell on the men at the Linita Design and Manufacturing plant in Lackawanna at about 5 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say 46-year-old Sabahudin Ramulic of Tonawanda was declared dead at Mercy Hospital, where his co-worker, 26-year-old Patrick Barker, was treated for leg injuries officials say aren't life-threatening.

The accident is under investigation.

Linita makes structural welded steel products.
