Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN) As the Senecas' battle with the state continues over casino exclusivity payments, Niagara Falls' mayor says the city budget won't be in on time.
"I have been working diligently with the city comptroller, administrator and all department heads to develop a balanced budget in these very difficult financial times," says Mayor Paul Dyster. He adds the city's budget, due Monday, won't be in on time because he has not explored all options.
"This is a disaster budget," adds Dyster. "I am trying my level best to reduce the pain to the unavoidable minimum."
Dyster says the city has not received $60 million in its share of payments because of the three year plus battle. He hopes to have a budget ready before the next council meeting October 15th.
