Groundbreaking at Outer Harbor

The project site along Fuhrmann Boulevard includes properties that previously belonged to Cargill and the New York Power Authority. The construction project will include pedestrian paths, volleyball courts, natural playgrounds, wind sculptures, and public docking.

The work will also include shoreline enhancements, installation of site utilities, the removal and disposal of miscellaneous concrete slabs and foundations, and rehabbing an existing building into a comfort station and garage.

The effort represents the Harbor Development Corp's first construction project at the Outer Harbor. The project should be complete by Memorial Day.
