City, volunteers clean up graffiti on Niagara Street

The city teamed up with local business owners and volunteers from Americorp to begin cleaning up the graffiti along Niagara Street.
 

Mayor Byron Brown says the graffiti is visible to those driving along the 190, and he held a Thursday update on the clean-up process near train tracks adjacent to the Niagara portion of the Thruway.

"The [city's] anti-graffiti unit and these volunteers from the Americorps programs have already cleaned off over five thousand square feet of graffiti," Brown said.

Brown says he doesn't think the problem is getting out of hand, but also acknowledges it's a constant struggle to remain vigilant with graffiti artists.
