Former Bills quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly

Jim Kelly talks Bills, new book

Amherst (WBEN) -- Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly has shared some thoughts on the team's current struggles -- and its future in Western New York.

Kelly on Tuesday stopped by the Entercom studios to discuss topics that included the Bills, and his new book.

Kelly knows the Bills have had a couple rough games in their back-to-back losses to the Patriots and the 49ers, but as a former player,  he says he's always optimistic and knows the current Bills are looking for something to get a spark in the locker room.

"We've had times when I played that things just didn't look very good, but you just hope that they show up and they understand it, but somebody in that locker room has got to step up and speak up and hopefully rally the troops," Kelly says.

When asked if the Bills franchise will be in Orchard Park a decade from now -- Kelly says he doesn't have a crystal ball.

"I just hope Mr. [Ralph] Wilson lives many many more years, and I know that we can't live forever, but I'm going to do what I can... I'll put it that way... I'll do what I can to make sure it [the Bills franchise] stays right here," Kelly adds.

Kelly is promoting his new book entitled The Playbook for Dads: Parenting Your Kids in the Game of Life.
