Former Depew Teacher Admits Stealing From PTO

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP/WBEN) - A former teacher has admitted to stealing more than $17,000 from her school's Parent Teacher Organization while serving as its treasurer.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Wednesday that 41-year-old Susan Jablonski pleaded guilty in county court to attempted grand larceny.

Prosecutors say Jablonski made unauthorized bank withdrawals to pay her personal expenses while treasurer of the Cayuga Heights Elementary School PTO in Depew from 2008 to 2010.

The school district alerted authorities.

Jablonski faces a maximum sentence of 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison when she's sentenced Jan. 28.
