Buffalo (WBEN) -- The clientele at Founding Fathers Pub on Edward Street enjoyed their snacks, beverages, and some modern-day vice presidential debating.
The establishment -- known for its historic decor and portraits of past presidents on the wall -- showed the vice presidential debate on its TVs on Thursday night.
Among those in attendance, Sarah Cercone, who says she's just trying keep up with the issues.
"I think it's important for everyone to be informed on what's going on and what are the issues. This one [debate] in particular ... a lot of issues going around, people are discussing, and I think it's important to know the facts and to know what people have to say about them" she says.
Another patron would've liked to see some third-party involvement.
"If you had a voice like Ron Paul, Jill Stein, somebody else providing that other view, we'd get a much more richer ... more in depth conversation," he says.
Another man, John Raymond, says it's good to have the vice president back up the president. and also just enjoyed the exchange between the two candidates.
"We need to take the debate out of the board room and bring down to the floor. It's good to see two guys go after it, even though it's mostly scripted," he says.
