Siena Poll: 47 Percent of NYers Not Better Off than 4 Years Ago

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Siena College's annual poll on the state of New Yorkers' economic feelings are out. A plurality of New Yorkers feel they are not better off now than they were four years ago. 35 percent say they are better off.

The poll finds the state evenly split on the nation's economic future. 50 percent believe the nation's economic woes are temporary and will recover while the other half believes the nation's best days financially are behind us.

The poll also finds a large majority supporting increasing federal income taxes on people making $250,000 a year. A majority also backs increasing exploration and development of natural gas and oil domestically.

The poll finds New Yorkers split on whether the health care reform act should be repealed. 43 percent are opposed, 40 percent are in favor.

Of course we're better off.
The economy was melting down in October 2008. What these studies should really focus on is the 35-year trend of the middle class disappearing and wealth being systematically redistributed to the top one percent. Of course your little propaganda outlet works for the Kochs and their subsidiaries so we won't be hearing about that on Radio Limbaugh.
