Bill Clinton will visit Western New York on Friday on behalf of area Congresswomen Kathy Hochul and Louise Slaughter, both Democrats facing stiff Republican opposition in newly drawn districts.
Hochul faces former Erie County Executive Chris Collins in a heavily Republican district, and Slaughter, whose new district no longer extends into the Niagara Frontier, faces Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks on Election day.
From Congresswoman Hochul's campaign:
President Bill Clinton will host a rally for Congresswoman Kathy Hochul and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter in Rochester, NY. Like President Clinton, Congresswoman Hochul has a proven record working with Democrats and Republicans to solve problems--to strengthen small businesses and the middle class, to protect seniors, and to balance the budget the right way.
"It is a tremendous privilege to welcome President Clinton to Monroe County," said Hochul. "President Clinton represents the very best of bi-partisan leadership, and his record demonstrates the positive progress we can make when Democrats and Republicans work together to grow our economy, strengthen the middle class, and balance the budget."
Hochul’s new district represents parts of Ontario and Monroe Counties, as well as Genesee, Livingston, Olreans, Wyoming, and parts of Erie County. The event will be held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19. Find tickets at http://kathyhochul.ticketleap.com/clinton/
