Adult customers providing a boost for Halloween retailers

Halloween is one the best revenue generating holidays after Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year's, says Buffalo native and retail analyst Burt Flickinger.

"Halloween will be a record breaker in terms of sales and profitability for retailers in the Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Western New York region," he says.

Flickinger cites conversations he's had with the CEO of retailer Party City, operates stores in the Buffalo area. The stores indicate their adult customer base for Halloween is growing.  And as for the competition, Flickinger says they should also do very well at Halloween.

Results at Tops Markets, Wegmans, and pharmacies like CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens, will also be good.

Flickinger says it's a war in the stores between retailers, grocery stores, and pharmacies that carry Halloween candy, costumes, and amenities.
