Trick or treaters go in search of candy

Kenmore (WBEN) -- Dressed in costumes, trick or treaters went out Wednesday night in search of goodies from area homes.

Along one street in Kenmore, one such youngster named Ryan was dressed as video game character Super Mario and said he was after just one thing:

"Candy," he said.  And when asked what kind, he replied, "Kit Kats," noting the free candy is the best part about Halloween.

Across the street, 8-year-old Brett was also hoping for a specific kind of candy.

"Reese's, Milky Way," he says, but seemed to be particularly fond of the Reese cups.

He wore a sweatshirt with the rib cage of a skeleton on the front. His twin brother, Jake, was dressed as a ninja -- and wearing long sleeves for a reason.

"Because it's cold, I'm dressed like this," Jake says.

It was a cloudy, cool evening along Rosemary Avenue with homes decorated for the occasion.

Trick or treating was scheduled for most areas across the region on Wednesday night, but some communities will hold on their observances until this weekend.
