Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced Thursday a team of emergency response experts will be in Nassau County to help in relief from superstorm Sandy.
One of the team members is Dan Neaverth, Jr. "As vital resources come in, and have to be pushed out to other areas, (We'll deal with) warehousing, logistics, planning, and to a certain extent finance and hazmat," says Neaverth.
He says the extent of the damage you've seen in TV pales in comparison to what they'll likely see in New York. "When you're actually there working with people losing everything, it brings a different dynamic, something you can't see from your family room," explains Neaverth.
The group will be there for a week. A second team from Erie County will soon head out as well.
