The work includes projects planned in the neighborhoods and the Buffalo Zoo. Mayor Byron Brown on Friday released details of the proposed $21 million capital budget at the Buffalo Zoo.
The Citizens Planning Council had evaluated more than $97 million in spending requests before arriving at the final figure, according to Brown, who said the city will pursue the money for the capital projects.
"This is all money that we will go the bond market for. This is all within the range that the city comptroller says is affordable," Brown said.
About $6 million of the proposed capital spending plan targets work in the neighborhoods on curbing, sidewalks, and streetscape. DPW Commissioner Steve Stepniak says the funding also targets smoother roads.
"We've complemented a strong paving program this year, which we figure we're going to continue next year," Stepniak said.
Stepniak had some input into the work planned for the neighborhoods and the parks..
