The team stayed with the AFC leading Texans for a while-- but could not produce offensively when it meant the most and wound up losing 21-9 Sunday in Houston.
Houston was the first team to get points on the board after the clubs exchanged punts to start the game. The score left the Bills looking for answers as Texans quarterback, Matt Schaub connected with tight end, Own Daniels on a boot-leg and Daniels was able to amble into the end-zone untouched for a 7-0 lead.

Buffalo was able to put together a drive that took them to the Houston four yard line but faced with a 4th down and two to go, Chan Gailey elected to attempt the field goal, cutting the score to 7-3.
The Bills forced Houston into a three and out on their following possession and quickly moved into field goal range again, Lindell then hit his second kick of the game to narrow the score to 7-6.
Buffalo’s first drive of the second half was a prelude of what was to come. Ryan Fitzpatrick (25/38/239/0/0) missed on three straight passes leading to a punt. Houston then took the ball 43 yards in just five plays capped by an Arian Foster (24 carries / 111 yards) score to make it 14-6.
Buffalo managed another three points from Lindell’s third field goal of the game but that was answered by the Texans as Schaub connected on his second touchdown pass of the game, this one to his other tight end, Garret Graham to make it 21-9.
For Bills’ defensive end, Mario Williams it was the first game against his former team and unfortunately for Bills fans, Williams was anything but a game changer, registering one sack and four tackles.
The loss drops Buffalo to 5-3 on the season with a trip to New England next week.
