Given the low number of undecided voters -- and how locked in each campaign's supporters seem to be -- Siena College pollster Steve Greenberg says it's no longer about persuasion, but instead, it's something else.
"Getting their voters to the polls to vote," Greenberg says.
Greenberg is a spokesman for polls from the Siena Research Institute, which conducted the polls in the race for the 27th congressional district between the Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul and the Republican challenger Chris Collins.
Both The Buffalo News and WGRZ-TV commissioned the polls in that local congressional race.
He says it ultimately boils down to which campaign has the better phone operation to make the calls to voters, and that's not all.
"...which campaign has more volunteers on the street going door to door, knocking on doors reminding people to get out and vote," Greenberg says.
And since the race is close, Greenberg says the old cliche does apply -- that every vote counts.
Greenberg says it wouldn't surprise him if the margin of victory in this congressional race -- is only a few hundred votes.
