Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Mark Grisanti, who voted for same sex marriage in New York last year, has been re-elected in the 60th State Senate district.
Grisanti fended off a challenge from Michael Amodeo and Charles Swanick. Grisanti defeated Antoine Thompson two years ago to claim that seat for the Republican party.
Tea Party Republican David DiPietro, the former East Aurora Mayor who battled for Dale Volker's state senate seat last year will be headed to Albany to replace retiring Republican Dan Burling of Warsaw. DiPietro defeated Christina Abt.
All other Western New York incumbent legislators were returned to office, but close races elsewhere could put the Republican majority in the NYS Senate in jeopardy.
