A feast of freebies is on the menu for the men and women who have served our country or who are currently active. A growing trend of offering free food and other gratis items from all types of businesses is taking hold as the nation prepares to commemorate Veteran’s Day on the 12th.
Many of the promotions kick off Saturday and run through the holiday. The promotion benefits both military members and the food industry since Mondays are typically the slowest day of the week. Most offers are available to active, inactive and retired personnel who can show identification.
Here is a list of area eateries that are promoting patriotism and creating opportunities for their business:
-Applebees: Free Applebees Signature Entree on November 11.
-Friendly's: Free Breakfast and Coffee on November 12.
-Golden Corral: Free dinner between 4pm - 9pm. on November 12.
- Olive Garden: Free entree on November 11.
-Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin Onion appetizer and drink on November 11 and November 12.
In addition, the Buffalo Zoo will be offering their "High Five for the Military" discount. Members and retirees of the US military will all receive free admission. Up to five guests will be admitted to the zoo for $1 a piece.
