"This year we're doing a costume contest," says Kathy Romanowski of the YMCA. "We're going to give out an award for the most creative individual and best group costume about 20 minutes before the start of the race." Romanowski says the prizes awarded are under wraps. Runners have been in costume over the years, and she says the Y is glad to see runners get into the spirit with the costumes.
Buses will be taking runners from downtown to the Target Plaza from 7am to 7:45am. After the race, folks can take part in the post race party at the Convention Center and the family friendly event at Statler City.
WBEN's Tom Puckett will serve as MC of the event for the 10th straight year.
