Body Found after Search & Rescue Near Stadium



After an early morning search in the areas behind the stadium and off Big Tree Road, Orchard Park fire and police crews and the Erie County Sheriff's Dept. helicopter have located the body of a missing man who wandered away from the Bills game last night.

The 26 year old man was identified as David Gerkin, Jr. of Palmyra, near Rochester. His body was recovered near 8 am Friday morning, after an extensive search.

Police officials say the man was ejected from the Bills game the prior evening.
 
Gerkin was found face down in one of the creekbeds behind the stadium complex, according to sources close to the search.

Windom Fire Company had set up a search near the creeks behind Ralph Wilson Fieldhouse, off Shadow Lane, near Big Tree Road.
