Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy announced Rich Products Corp. on Niagara St. has plans for an $18 million investment in its Buffalo headquarters.

Rich Products to invest $18 million in headquarters

Buffalo (WBEN) -- A well-known food products company is planning to expand its facility of Buffalo's west side.

The firm supplies products to retailers, in-store bakeries, and foodservice providers, and now Rich Products on Niagara Street will spend 18 million to expand its headquarters.

"It's going to maintain 651 jobs here, grow 17 new jobs," Lieutenant Gov. Robert Duffy said during a Monday morning announcement at the company.

New York is chipping in about $4 million, capital grants, and tax incentives, Duffy added.

"It's a name that is clearly one that has had a huge impact here. It's one of the largest family-owned food businesses in the country," Duffy said.

The investment is intended to boost the firm's research and development efforts.
