Erie County Sheriff's deputies say 24 yearr old Danielle Kellogg, from the Town of Brant, was traveling westbound in a 2003 Ford Explorer, on Southwestern Blvd., on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, where she crossed over the center line and struck a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by 31 year old Denise Hine, of Hamburg; in the vehicle with Hine was a 7 month old female passenger. The crash caused the Grand Am to split in half.
The 7 month old female passenger was taken by Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Fire Company ambulance to Lakeshore Health Care Center, where she was pronounced dead. Hine was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight, where she is listed in serious condition. Kellogg was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
Kellogg is charged with DWI and Vehicular Manslaughter in the second degree.
The crash remains under investigation; additional charges are pending.
