Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, November 28th 2012



There was big business in small business this past weekend.  The National Federation of Independent Business reports awareness of Small Business Saturday jumped to 67% - and of that percentage, 47% shopped on that day at smaller businesses.  The total of $5.5 billion spent with independent merchants was slightly ahead of projections.

A subsidiary of Cleveland BioLabs has signed a $4.5 million contract with the Russian government.  Under terms of the agreement, Cleveland BioLabs will develop anti-infective agents.

Perry's Ice Cream has released its holiday flavors.  Back for a limited time are Peppermint Stick and White Christmas.
 
Saturday, December 1st is the last day to nominate businesses for the 2013 Buffalo Niagara Business Ethics Awards.  Local companies will compete in recognition in small, mid and large-sized categories.  The awards are due to be announced next spring.  You can enter a submission through this link.
