At Least 2 Winners in $580 Million Powerball

DES MOINES, Iowa (WBEN / AP) -- At least two winning tickets have been sold for last night's record Powerball multi-state lottery game.

The official Powerball website lists the states where jackpot winning tickets were sold as: Arizona and Missouri.

Before the big drawing, the jackpot had risen to $579.9 million dollars, making it the largest-ever Powerball jackpot, and the second-largest lottery jackpot ever in the United States.

officials say brisk sales keep driving up the payout amount.

Even split two ways, each winner taking the cash option would get about $190 million before taxes.

Powerball officials had estimated there was a 75 percent chance that the winning combination of numbers would be drawn last night.
