Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The Erie County Sheriff's Office is warning you of a scam involving a well known sweepstakes.
Deputies tell WBEN two victims in Elma reported getting a call claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House telling them they had won a huge cash prize.
Investigators say the victims were told to provide personal information and in one case the victim was asked to send money to cover fees and taxes.
In one of the cases, the victim sent out several thousand dollars to the scammer.
Anyone who feels they've been a victim should call the sheriff's office at 858-6670.
