After a game that probably ended the Buffalo Bills playoff hopes, head coach Chan Gailey announced Monday that running back Fred Jackson will be out for several weeks- effectively ending his season regardless of whether the team defies the odds and continues into post game play..
The announcement was made by a one line statement on the team's website, BuffaloBills.com "Bills RB Fred Jackson will miss 2-3 weeks with a knee injury, head coach Chan Gailey announced this morning. "
The news comes after the Bills lost to the Rams, in a game that all but eliminates them from playoff contention for the 13th straight year. With the game on the line late in the fourth quarter, the Buffalo Bills let St. Louis off the hook. Read More | See a Gameday Photo Album
Up 12-7 with just under 5 minutes to play, a Bills defense that had been stout suddenly became vulnerable. Sam Bradford capped a 14-play, 84-yard drive with a 13-yard pass to Brandon Gibson with 48 seconds left to seal a 15-12 Rams win on Sunday.

With a towel over his head, Jackson was then carted off from the sideline, with fans chanting "Freddie! Freddie!"
The Bills are now all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs (Buffalo is two games behind Cincinnati and Pittsburgh with three games to play). Remarkably enough, both Pittsburgh and Cincinnati lost on Sunday, which means the Bills would have been only one game out of a playoff spot had they won.
