Grant wants committee to help curb city violence

Buffalo (WBEN) -- An Erie County lawmaker wants a greater effort to stop violent activity in Buffalo.

County legislator Betty Jean Grant is among those concerned following that double homicide on Minnesota Avenue early Tuesday morning.

Grant wants to create a committee comprised of police, city leaders, and activists to explore ways to stop the violence in Buffalo. She spoke about her concern during a rally Wednesday  morning on Minnesota Avenue, near the crime scene...

Other activists joined her to say that -- enough is enough.

Police say Shameka Harris, 28, and Joshua Eatmon, 23, were shot and killed in the incident.

Harris was a mother of four.
