Storm Moves Out: 10" to 12" Across Region

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The perfect winter storm interrupted Christmas week as a major snow system crossed Western New York late Wednesday into Thursday, leaving 10 to 12 inches of snow in its path.

While the storm snarled roads during Wednesday's afternoon commute, the bulk of the accumulation fell during the evening and overnight hours, subsiding well before the Thursday commute.  Since schools are already closed for Christmas week, traffic volume was light and plows have been able to keep up.

Here is the latest from the national Weather Service:

...SLICK ROADWAYS ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING...

WHILE THE HEAVY ACCUMULATING SNOWS HAVE ENDED...LEFTOVER LIGHT
SNOW SHOWERS AND PATCHY LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR DRIZZLE WILL KEEP THE

THE COURSE OF THE MORNING...THE VERY LIGHT PRECIPITATION SHOULD
GIVE WAY TO SOME STEADY LIGHT SNOW. ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
THROUGH LATE MORNING WILL BE UNDER AN INCH IN MOST AREAS...WITH AN
INCH OR TWO POSSIBLE THROUGH THAT TIME PERIOD ACROSS THE COUNTIES
BORDERING THE SOUTH SHORE OF LAKE ONTARIO.

WINDS THIS MORNING WILL GENERALLY BE FROM THE NORTH AT 10
MPH..BUT WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH AFTER 9 AM. TEMPERATURES

Poll
How do you feel about allowing school districts a second vote on their budget plan?
As long as it's a different plan it's ok.
I'm ok with a 2nd vote for the same or a different plan.
  One vote and done!
