The Hamister Group now has possession of the Tishman Building in downtown Buffalo.  Business First reports The Hamister Group paid $1.8 million for the 18-story building on Lafayette Square.  A $40 million makeover is planned, bringing a 124-room Hilton Garden Hotel to anchor the property.  The hotel is expected to create 50 new jobs.

D'Youville College recently purchased a 3-1/2 acre city-owned lot on Porter Avenue.  The college will use private funds to build new athletic fields at the site bordered by Jersey and Fourth Streets.  D'Youville hopes to have the fields ready for play this fall.

The new Dog Ears Cafe has officially opened at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo.  The cafe shares a building with the Dog Ears Bookstore. A grand opening is planned for Saturday, January 12th featuring food and drink specials.
