Police arrest teen in beating of elderly man

Buffalo (WBEN) -- Buffalo police have made an arrest in the beating of a 96-year-old man back in November.

Police have arrested Justice Feggans, 18, of Buffalo following the beating of Levi Clayton, 96, back on November 24th.

Mayor Byron Brown says it wasn't a random act of violence.

Feggans is a student at Riverside High School and a member of the school's basketball team.

Police commissioner Daniel Derenda says Feggans is charged with two counts each of 1st degree robbery and 1st degree burglary.

"At this time, the investigation continues. I cannot say a lot more about motive ... but the investigation at this point continues," Derenda said, speaking to reporters at Buffalo City Hall on Thursday.

Additional arrests are also possible, he added.

The victim, Clayton, is a deacon at Friendship Baptist Church and has been recovering at a rehabiliation facility ever since.

Video cameras at Clayton's home showed a group of young men entering the home on the night of the attack.
