Sabres president Ted Black says the fans are entitled to an apology.
"On behalf of the Pegulas and the Sabres, we do apologize that the fans have to go through this [NHL labor troubles]," Black said.
He joined general manager Darcy Regier during the Tuesday afternoon news conference at First Niagara Center.
Black says the Sabres are still waiting on the draft of their schedule, but the team is preparing for an opener on January 19th and a possible home opener the following day.
Black says, just like the fans, he needs the Sabres schedule to get tickets distributed and sold.
"We want to make life easier for our fans that are eager to get down here and make plans to get down here... to make dinner reservations and other things like that that fans do on a game night," Black said.
Prices for season tickets will also remain the same, Black said.
Sabres GM Darcy Regier says the 48-game schedule will make for a busy season -- with the team playing essentially every other day.
"So, I think the coaches, the strength and conditioning coaches, and the training staff are trying to figure out the best way to approach that," Regier said.
