Sabres to hold public scrimmage as training camp continues

Buffalo (WBEN) -- The Buffalo Sabres are welcoming the public as they get ready to open the regular season on Sunday.

The team is hosting a night practice and scrimmage at First Niagara Center.

Fans can begin filing into First Niagara Center at 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. The practice begins at 5:30 p.m., and the scrimmage should get started around 6 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, and parking is also free.

Sabres president Ted Black says the concessions will also be available at reduced pricing.

"And I don't know how many to expect. I don't whether there'll be 1,000 or 10,000 people [attending], Black said.

The practice session will also include an inter-squad scrimmage, comprised of three, 15-minute periods.

The Sabres open the season on Sunday, hosting the Philadelphia Flyers, with game coverage available on sister-station WGR Sportsradio 550.

Poll
How do you feel about allowing school districts a second vote on their budget plan?
As long as it's a different plan it's ok.
I'm ok with a 2nd vote for the same or a different plan.
  One vote and done!
