Catholic Health Sets Temporary Visitor Restrictions

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) In an attempt to reduce the spread of the flu virus, Catholic Health is placing temporary restrictions on visitors.

The group says only people 14 and older will be allowed at its hospitals, which include Kenmore Mercy, South Buffalo Mercy, Sisters of Charity Hospital and St. Joseph Campus. The policy also takes effect at the long term care facilities such as Father Baker Manor, McAuley residence, Mercy Skilled Nursing Facility at OLV, St. Francis of Williamsville, and St. Catherine Laboure. Restrictions also apply to neonatal intensive care units and maternal child areas at SIsters and Mercy Hospitals.

If you have flu-like symptoms, Catholic Health is urging you not to visit patients.
Restrictions will stay in place until clinical professionals determine they are no longer needed for patient and visitor safety, say Catholic Health officials.
