Jacobs Will Not Release Pistol Permit Data to Buffalo News

has that become the media's job? I thought the cops were supposed to solve crimes. Is this CSI: Buffalo News?
Wouldn't it make MORE sense if the NEWS reported after a CRIME if the accused has a VALID permit,or if the firearm was illegal.
Taking a stand.
Thank you Chris Jacobs for taking a stand -- it is not the business of the Buffalo News to go snooping and scooping for national back slaps. I am disgusted with what is passing for journalism.. Ask the News if they will be publishing welfare recipients..after all we are in a fiscal crisis and we need to know if anyone is 'illegally' receiving and stealing federal or state funds..Bravo! Chris Jacobs.
Pistol Permits must be protected
Three cheers for Chris Jacobs, posting pistol permits in the Buffalo sNews will do little to boost circulation- wrapping fish is all its good for. Now they want you to pay to use the Snooze on the web. LOL
failure to release pistol permit data
Thank you Chris Jacobs! So glad there is a someone who shows a little intelligence when it comes to this "gun control" insanity! I certainly would not want anyone to know if I owned a gun! That is nothing but a calling card to those who want to steal it! How stupid can this society get? There will always be law-abiding citizens and always be those who are hell-bent on braking every law society creates, because they(criminals) are naturally anti-social to begin with!
Way to go, Chris!!!
It's good to see that someone has the guts and responsibility to tell the lefties at the increasingly irrelevant Buffalo News where to go. The people that run this paper live in their own little liberal world and know exactly how you should conductyour life----and that is only according to their standards.
YES! There is a man with a spine in NY State. Thank You Mr. Jacobs.
You are doing the right thing Chris
Don't release them, it will cause more harm than good. Law abiding citizens with registered guns are not the problem.
What other purposes would the news have in mind??
The snooze is still better than right wing lies and propaganda.
WBEN critizicing the snooze is like Billy Joe Hobert criticizing Ryan Fitzpatrick. They're both below average but one in particular is far, far below.
Thank you ECC Chris Jacobs!
As a holder of a NYS Pistol Permit issued in EC, I applaud your decision to not share my personal info with the Buff News. Your stand has given me local hope in a state that has stripped all hope.
Thank God for Mr. Jacobs rational decision to protect our privacy.I obtained a pistol permit over 20 years ago and believe me,Uncle Sam knows Where I live, what I own, and why I have it.What could they gain by that information except to maybe sell more papers and generate more trouble.I'm tired of these left wing Democrats trying to portray honest, law abiding, tax paying Americans as common criminals. Bob from Buffalo
Cancelled My Buffalo News Subscription TODAY
Hats off to Mr. Jacobs for doing the right thing. I cancelled my Buffalo News subscription today. Enough is enough. Other law abiding firearms owners may wish to consider it. They were in denial when I called to cancel. Money talks.
Thank you Mr Jacobs
And not the mental midgets in Albany want us to disclose even more information regarding ammunition as well as some long guns. Can we trust the government? Not in Westchester or Rockland. As far as the Buffalo News this is the last day Ill ever spend a dime on them
Lets use our head
Would it be a good idea to provide the names and sddresses of judges and law enforcement officials to the criminals ?
Good job Chris Jacobs !
Thanks for preventing a possible disaster from happening. People were upset and outraged by this invasion of privacy. The innocent people must be protected.
Thank you for having "brass ones"!
As a registered permit holder I would like to thank Chris Jacobs. It is irrelevant information that the News is searching for, like most of our elected officials, they are just jumping on the "grandstanding off the tragedy" bandwagon. Most crimes are commited with unregistered guns. The media is trying to make the person that takes 8-9 months (in NYS) to legally obtain a permit as a bad person. There is something wrong when my wife can not get me health care information, but the Buffalo News can get information that could in turn harm my health! If the News is somehow allowed to get information, every permit holder that is a News subscriber should cancel their account to send a message, I know I will. In addition all the News employees names and addresses should be published as well as if they are permit holders or not, that way the criminals with the unregistered guns know whom to target. I am a veteran and this is not the country I signed up to defend!
Thank you Mr Jacobs
No more buffalo news for me....
Thank You for a Common Sense Decision
I applaude Chris Jacobs' decision! Not only does it infringe on the privacy of law-abiding gun owners it also tells the criminals where they might plan their next burglary. If the News publishes this information I will immediately cancel my subscription - I may just do it anyway because of their position.
Thank You Chris Jacobs
With all the blather coming out of planet Albany and the banter about "common sense", one man, County Clerk Chris Jacobs, has actually demonstrated what common sense truly is! On behalf of the Erie County law-biding citizens and sportsmen and women, I THANK YOU!
Reporters not Cops
I cancelled my subscription today also. As a retired Federal Law Enforcement officer I have no desire to support a newspaper that wants to put me and my family in jeopardy from burglars and other criminals. Warren Buffet and his men have no business sticking their noses in pistol permit files.
