Former Bills linebacker Scott Radecic, who's worked as an architect for Populous, a firm that specializes in upgrades to sports facilities, led a tour of Ralph Wilson Stadium on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. Radecic also briefed Erie County legislators about the plans for improvements and renovations at the stadium before leading the tour.

Erie County legislators react to stadium plans

Orchard Park (WBEN) -- As they consider the new stadium lease deal, Erie County lawmakers reacted to Thursday's presentation on stadium improvements.

After hearing the presentation, the lawmakers also went on the walking tour around the stadium.

Legislator Ed Rath says he was impressed, but also does have a concern with the concourse congestion on game days.

"And I think it's a real problem in our stadium, particularly at halftime. I think they are going to take some measures to improve that, and I think they need to be mindful of the concourse congestion," Rath said, as spoke with reporters at the end of the tour.

Otherwise, he said he walked away further impressed and optimistic that legislators are making the right decision for the community and for the long-term viability of the Buffalo Bills.

Rath's colleague, legislator Lynn Marinelli, says the lease deal is basically the same as the current agreement -- with the improvements added in, which she believes will be good for Bills fans.

"And look at how much they invest into a game day event. They want to have a wonderful experience and I think all of this will help lead to that," Marinelli said.

She also thinks the legislature is also aware of the psychological aspect that the Bills have in the region.  Lawmakers will again consider the lease agreement when they meet coming up later this month.
