Plan B for Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tourney Friday



Buffalo, NY (WBEN) For the second straight year, organizers of the Labatt Blue Pond Hockey tournament will have to resort to a plan B. Details will be announced at a news conference Friday morning.

The relatively mild winter has led to Lake Erie being unable to provide 12 inches of ice needed for safe pond hockey play on the Marina.

Last year's pond hockey tournament resorted to a street hockey festival when a mild winter prevented the lake from freezing up.

Street Hockey Tournament
Ha! Why not promote this as the Labatt Street Hockey Tournament next year . . . then move it to the ice if there is any!!!!!
